Conference, concerts and market, Århus in August 2009

Århus (Denmark) hosted a 3-day conference about West African culture and politics. The conference was attended by 50 guests from West Africa. Among the subjects for debate were hip hop, politics, Islam, African storytelling traditions, festivals, contemporary art and African film prodcution. Among the special guests were hip hop stars from Ivory Coast: Priss'K and Nash + the Senegalese rapper/MC Xuman. The "Africa Now" program also featured a concert with the Danish-Ghanaian music teamwork: the Sababas Project. The conference took place 14th to 16th August 2009. The extensive program was organised by the Danish Center for Culture and Development
