Get ready for a true reggae explosion when the Ivorian reggae star Alpha Blondy reaches Denmark with his band The Solar System.
Reggae has become planetary music thanks to Bob Marley. But if this now universal style of music has become the voice of the voiceless, the CNN of ghettos worldwide and one of the main musics on the African continent, it’s also thanks to Alpha Blondy, messenger of reggae music in the Ivory Coast.
Blondy sings in Dioula, English, French, Arabic and Hebrew. His band, The Solar System, is likewise international, with members hailing from Cameroon, England, France, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, and Togo. Alpha Blondy and The Solar System are tight and hot, and Alpha's status as the premiere African Reggae star is richly deserved.
Alpha has been in Jamaica to record his music since his very first album Cocody Rock !!!, released in 1984, partially produced by the famous jamaican beatmaker Clive Hunt. His latest album Jah Victory is praised by fans worldwide and this October there is finally a chance to have the true Alpha Blondy reggae experience in Denmark.
