South Africa 10 years
Photos from the South African festival in Copenhagen, Denmark September 2004
"Black and white in colour" was a 3-day South Africa festival in Copenhagen celebrating the first 10 years of democracy in South Africa.
I am sure most visitors to this site will agree that this was an anniversary well worth remembering. The festival had a programme packed with movies, workshops, an African market as well as lectures and debates with guests from South Africa.
Below are a few images from the official opening in the "Township-tent". The opening featured gospel singing with the choir "Church on the Rock", a small fashion show with designs by Nusibema Satcha and an introduction to the participants and the market. The festival opening was hosted by Joy and Niels who could also present the storyteller and "praise singer" Novensi and an African concert with the Danish choir Papaya. The festival arranged by the organisation Sydafrika Kontakt was on from September 23rd to 26th 2004.
